Tom Kong Watson Interview

I caught up with one of Britain’s top MMA fighter’s recently and he answered some questions from Warriors of MMA. Tom has recently signed a 3 fight deal with the MFC in Canada, which is also where he is now based, training at Tristar in Montreal, Quebec. His debut for the MFC came in a spectacular fashion with a head kick KO win. He will also be fighting Alex Reid in the upcoming british event BAMMA 3.

Warriors Of MMA – Congratulations on your KO victory in MFC24. Where do you think this has placed you in the MFC and who would you like to fight next from within that organisation?

Tom Watson – MFC has a deep middleweight division so Im not sure where it places me but it let the Canadian fans know who i was and the types of fights im always involved in.

Warriors Of MMA – How has life in Canada been, and how has your training changed since being there?

Tom Watson – Life in Canada is great but has also been tough too. I live in Quebec which most people speak French and moving to a new place is always hard on your own, but hey I am still breathing/eating and having fun!

Warriors Of MMA – You’ll be back in the UK for BAMMA 3 for your fight against Alex Reid. Is there anything you feel you have to work on for this fight?

Tom Watson – My team will look at his tapes soon but still the same things mainly, lots of wrestling, grappling and striking

Warriors Of MMA – If you could pick anyone in any organisation to fight right now, who would it be and why?

Tom Watson – Anyone out there who I would call a name internationally right now and any fight that can further my career

Warriors Of MMA – Do you have any goals set for this year in MMA, and will you need to change anything in your routine to achieve those goals?

Tom Watson – I just want an injury free year and as many fights as i can get. im not too much a future planning type of guy
