UCMMA Resurrection is not one to be missed by MMA fans in the UK. There’s some great talent being shown at the Troxy on Saturday 6th February 2010, including Dean Amasinger, Alberto Mina, Stav “Crazy Bear” Economou, and many more. So if you haven’t got your tickets yet, go to ultimatechallengeuk and get your tickets now.
Dean Amasinger V Alberto Mina
(UCMMA Welterweight Title)
Both fighters have a string of wins behind them and are full of confidence. Alberto Mina is undefeated but I don’t think he has fought anyone of Dean’s calibre. Both fighters have great jui jitsu, so I can see them both slugging it out. My prediction is Dean Amasinger by decision.
Shola Adeniran V Stav Economou
(UCMMA Heavyweight Bout)
I didn’t see Shola Adeniran’s only professional win in 2008, but I know how much experience Stav Economou has in the cage, and there’s not many heavyweights in the UK that have a better takedowns and ground and pound as Stav. That along with a solid chin and constant forward pressure means that I can see Stav Economou defeating Shola Adeniran by TKO.
Edgelson Lua V John Maguire
(UCMMA Welterweight Bout)
This is a tough one for me to call. Both fighters are coming off losses. John Maguire is making his UCMMA Welterweight debut, while Edgelson Lua will be looking to rebuild his route back to the Welterweight belt. I think both fighters have good ground games and submissions, so I think this fight will have some good stand up. I’ve actually changed my mind about the winner of this fight about a million times but I’ll go for Edgelson Lua to win by TKO.
Mark Weir V Mark Epstein
Azran Quasid V Scott Jansen
Pablo Ben V Colin French
Peter Yandel Vs Karlos Vemola
Jamie Hearn Vs Valentino Petrescu
Jamaine Facey Vs Ben Craggy
This blog is really taking shape now mate. Lots of good stuff on here. Keep it up.
tim´s last blog ..City Cycling – Intercyclist Interaction
Thats an interesting opinion on the Stav/Shola fight. Stav has experience, however the only two people of note he’s fought are Linton Vassell, whom he beat by decision, and Karlos Vermola, who demolished him. Linton lost to Shola by TKO’d in the third round. I believe at the time Shola had only taken up Karate, and was a yellow belt. A year is a long time, and the result might be suprising. either way, whoever wins, its sure to be an outstanding fight.
Hearn vs Petrescu is another fight to watch. Hearn is merciless, Petrescu is a roman gladiator.
@tim thanks mate, loving your site too. Is the training going well?
@max Cheers Max. I agree a year is a long time. I have now seen Shola’s last fight and he would of definitely needed to improve his wrestling and ground game. The fight ended due to his opponent gassing out, and to be honest, Shola was almost there too. Im really looking forward to the Hearn fight too, his last KO was brutal. As always, it will be great to watch Amasinger fight again. His last win in the UCMMA was slick, and he’s definitely a future star in MMA. Ive heard alot of british fighters say the same thing.
