With 56 seconds left in the fight, Edwards caught Usman with a left kick to the head. Usman was about to win. Usman lost right away, and Edwards triumphantly claimed the UFC welterweight championship. Usman was never followed to the ground by him. He started the celebration by raising his arms in the air.
Undoubtedly, it was the best, most amazing conclusion in UFC history. The conclusion occurred at 4:04 in the fifth.
It prevented Usman from matching Anderson Silva's streak of 16 victories in a row and established Edwards as the first champion of Jamaican descent in UFC history.
